SKIN CANCER RATES RISING

Why?

After 'they' have convinced us that the sun is our enemy, and the campaign to spread sun blockers, creams and salves over the exposed parts of our anatomy. The rates should be going down shouldn't they?

According to William C. Douglass II MD in the Daily Dose" newsletter:

"New studies show that non-melanoma skin cancers hit more Americans than all other cancers combined, and five times as many people as breast or prostate cancer.

Here's how bad it is: Two million Medicare patients are treated for these skin cancers every year. Skin cancer cases shot up 77 percent between 1992 and 2006, and they're still increasing by 4.2 percent annually.

With numbers like that, you'd think even the experts might start to admit that we've been approaching this all wrong.

If the sun was REALLY causing skin cancer, and if sunscreen prevented it, we'd be cancer-free by now. We're already spending less time outside than ever, and wasting billions of dollars a year on needless, dangerous creams and lotions.

Meanwhile, just a couple of generations ago, we spent far more time out in the sun and ZILCH on sunscreen -- and skin cancer was practically unheard of.

One study last year spelled out what I've been saying all along: People with the highest levels of vitamin D have the lowest risk of skin cancer. Sure, you can get some of that from a pill... but historically, most people have gotten their D straight from the source: the sun.

Sunscreen not only blocks the sun and stops the body from making vitamin D... but common ingredients in that gooey garbage have actually been linked to cancer, along with birth defects and sex problems.

Again,we have been bamboozled by science that isn't science at all-

just someone's opinion, or the skewed result of tests, probably underwritten by those who would profit by this misinformation.

It seems the medical community has a lot to answer for, and not just healthcare laws.

JUST SAY NO

REF:"Just Say No", by Toby Conner, www.SafeHaven.com 4/5/2010

The following is extracted as written by the referenced author, who did such a great job of detailing his subject, that no excerpting will do it justice.:

Let me start out by asking a few questions. How many of you were pro-bailout? How many pro-healthcare? How many think borrowing trillions of dollars to "stimulate" will really have any long term effect what-so-ever on the economy? How many realize that borrowing and spending really isn't the cure for a problem caused by too much debt and too much consumption?

Now let me ask another question. Aren't our politicians supposed to represent the will of the people?

I'm going to assume that the vast majority answered no to the above questions and yes to the last one. If that is the case then why in the hell did we hand over billions and billions of dollars to the banking industry? Was that in our best interests? How on earth did the health care bill get passed? And why, why, why are we throwing trillions of dollars down the drain in stimulus that has no earthly chance of having any long term positive effects?

Of course we all know the answer to the question. All these things came to pass because politicians don't actually represent the will of the people. Politicians represent our desire to avoid short term pain and their own personal desire to get re-elected.

So how did we get in the mess we are in?

Let's start off with a little history. Let me say that nothing is happening today that hasn't happened many times in the past. I'm fairly certain human nature hasn't changed in the last 5000 years or so, and I really doubt it's going to materially change in the next 5000 either, so I can virtually guarantee we will go through this again...and again, and again.

Historically about every 70-80 years humanity suffers through an economic depression. It takes about that long for society to forget the ravages of the last depression and. And what causes it is a credit bubble.

I know we would like to blame our troubles on the greedy bankers and leave it at that. But that is way too simple. Bankers are just human, no different than anyone else. Trust me, no one is immune to the pull of greed. Sure the financial system should have foreseen that no good could possibly come from loaning half a million dollars to someone with a $30,000 a year job. And what about the speculator that bought that half million dollar house. He knew darn well when he took out the loan he couldn't afford to make any payments once the teaser rates expired. Isn't it also his fault when he lied about his income? Or how about the loan originator? Was it really in everyone's best interest to underwrite a loan for several hundred thousand dollars to a guy sitting on the other side of the table wearing a McDonald's work uniform? Or was it just the quickest way to make a commission? And what the heck, everyone else was doing it. If they didn't make the loans they were just going to put themselves out of business while all their competitors were getting rich.

The same could be said for the appraisers. They certainly knew the prices they were quoting had no basis in reality, but then if they tried to act responsibly they would quickly find themselves out of a job.

How about the home owner who annually or biannually refinanced their house so they could take equity out and buy a new Hummer, home theater system, or a swell vacation, etc. Aren't they also just as much to blame as the bankers?

We've coined the term Banksters as a sign of the contempt we feel towards the perceived instigators and originators of our current malaise, but perhaps we need another term, one that is a bit harder to stomach but just as appropriate. Sure, the Banksters were a big part of what went wrong but no more so than the average Americanster. All those folks living on home equity, all those buying houses, sometimes several at a time to flip, all those people lying about their income, were they not also driven by greed? Weren't they just as much at fault for the mess we are in as any banker?

Next I want to point out that none of this would have been possible without the co-operation of our elected officials and especially the Federal Reserve. After all it was Alan Greenspan and now Ben Bernanke who cut rates to near zero and supplied the free money that was required to get the ball rolling down the hill. No bubble was possible without the consent of the Fed, the very people who are supposed to be looking out for this very thing.

Of course Greenspan has insisted it isn't possible to spot a bubble before it pops. What a load of baloney. Anyone with half a brain could spot not only the tech bubble but also the housing bubble a mile away.

Amazingly we are now going to give the Fed even more power to regulate and oversee markets. The very people whose monetary policies enabled the credit bubble in the first place. The very same people who couldn't see it as it formed. The very same people who repeatedly denied it as it imploded.

Do we really want to trust these folks with regulating the system? Let's face it, their track record leaves a lot to be desired. Why should we think they will get it right this time when so far they are batting zero?

There are right and wrong ways to deal with this kind of problem though. History has shown over and over that the quickest and cleanest solution is to let the market work. Let the system collapse and cleanse. Sure it means hard times. There really is no avoiding that. The countries that have allowed the market to function have suffered 2 or 3 years of extreme pain. Regretable, but unavoidable.

However, every country that buckled down and accepted the cleansing process emerged from the other side much stronger. Brazil in the early 80's, Vietnam in the mid 80's and Russia in the late 90's are just a few examples. And without exception these countries all saw explosive growth after allowing the cleansing process to run its course.

It's simply not possible to borrow trillions and trillions of dollars and spend our way out of bankruptcy. The old adage that you never get something for nothing has been conveniently overlooked. I don't think the laws of economics are going to be magically revoked for a country anymore than they will for an individual. Just ask Greece!

So where is all this leading us?

I'll tell you where it's leading. We are going to continue to borrow more and more money. We are going to continue to stimulate and bailout failed companies. And none of it is going to work. It didn't work for Roosevelt in the 1930's. It didn't work for Japan in the 1990's and it's not going to work for the USA now.

We are just going to go deeper and deeper into debt. Taxes will continue to rise (by the way does anyone realize how many hidden taxes are buried in the new health care bill)? And inflation (a hidden tax that none of us have any say in) will continue to worsen.

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES

Founded in 1971, this maverick airline has beat the pants off of the tried and true air carriers like American , United and Northwest. Southwest, the love air line is now the largest U.S. airline in number of passengers carried per year.

The employees are so happy and friendly, you may think they are not employees at all. Their secret is the management believes the employees come first, even before the customers or stockholders. They have a profit sharing plan and best of all a love attitude.

This Texas based carrier began with flights out of Love Field in Dallas, TX , the former airport serving Dallas before DFW was built, quickly expanding to neighboring states. and eventually flying to cities on both coasts.

Southwest flies exclusively Boeing 737 airplanes, which gives them a built efficiency

and dependability. They are consistently on-time each time, every time to the point of backing away from the terminal dock, before you have time to fasten your seat belt.

They are a low fare, no seat assignment airline, usually the less costly from and to cities that they service. The one-class fare, plus bargain fares for get-away deals makes it easy to fly with them.

Southwest Airlines is an American Success story. Love that airline.

THE EASTER LILY

The traditional Easter flower signifies purity and hope; the white trumpet shaped flower is used by churches to bank their altars and crosses to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus the only begotten son of God, and belief in everlasting life.

These flowers were found growing in the garden of Gethsemane after

the capture, torture and murder of the Christ of God by the Jews and Romans.

From Ask.com:

"A mark of purity and grace throughout the ages, the regal white lily is a fitting symbol of the greater meaning of Easter. Gracing millions of homes and churches, the flowers embody joy, hope and life. Whether given as a gift or enjoyed in your own home, the Easter Lily serves as a beautiful reminder that Easter is a time for rejoicing and celebrating."

Easter morn with lilies fair
Fills the church with perfumes rare,
As their clouds of incense rise,
Sweetest offerings to the skies.
Stately lilies pure and white
Flooding darkness with their light,
Bloom and sorrow drifts away,
On this holy hallow’d day.
Easter Lilies bending low
in the golden afterglow,
Bear a message from the sod
To the heavenly towers of God.

WONDERFUL GENERAL McCRHYSTAL

We have a new military hero, who's deeds don't match his rhetoric, nor his reported brilliant strategy in Afghanistan. The press is calling it a Master Strategy, the

"McChrystal Doctrine" which calls for the winning over of the civilians rather than

killing insurgents. [an insurgent is anyone who doesn't want his country invaded and overrun with planes, drones, tanks, artillery and other devises of murder and mayhem]

As with many of the stories attributed to the DOD or pentagon, the truth is far afield from the articles and statements. Any veteran will tell you not to trust what they say or promise.

REF: "McChrystal's Night Raiders" by Gareth Porter, www.CounterPunch.com

"But there is a glaring contradiction between McChrystal's new counterinsurgency credentials and his actual policy toward the politically explosive issue of night raids on private homes by Special Operations Forces (SOF) units targeting suspected Taliban.

Since he took over as top commander in Afghanistan, McChrystal has not only refused to curb those raids but has increased them dramatically. And even after they triggered a new round of angry protests from villagers, students and Afghan President Hamid Karzai himself, he has given no signal of reducing his support for them.

". .After becoming commander of U.S. and Nato forces he approved a four fold increase in those [night] operations. . ."

REF: IS THE ENEMY OUR OWN STUPIDITY? by Gordon Duff,Veterans Today.com 4/2/10

"America’s recent attack, augmented by top line Afghan army troops, against the massive Taliban enclave in the city of Marjah, population 80,000, a city that has been an enemy stronghold for years may not have happened at all. Can anyone prove it? Nobody had ever heard of Marjah before or even knew a city was there. Nobody knew it was a Taliban stronghold either. One thing we can easily figure out from the total lack of reporting, other than our “screw ups,” killing the usual civilians, using our over reliance on technology, is that the sham of the operation was simply to give the mercenary army of the Northern Alliance, an army no American soldier would turn its back on, a casual airing.

A trip to Vegas would have been cheaper and we would have found just as many Taliban. What we did find is drugs, drugs everywhere, the embarrassment of our deceitful policy to build narcotics production from nothing to massive levels. The further risk of peppering the internet with more photos of American, Afghan, British or Canadian troops tiptoeing through the poppies had to be avoided at all cost. Thus a tissue thin cover story about poor farmers and their reliance on opium for a living was spun to the public, a story based on lies.

WHAT ARE WE REALLY INTO?

We have turned Afghanistan from a haven for a few foreign fighters, bin Laden included, given safe haven under strict parole, no training facilities, monitored daily under threat of expulsion, a country with a strict Islamic government actively rejecting opium production, western technology and the human rights of its women, into a sewer of drug dealers, crooked contractors, terrorist training camps and spies. We originally handed the country over to warlord drug barons and criminals and eventually melded Hamid Karzai, a know moderate and very well know weak leader into the dupe of a defacto dictatorship built around the city of Kabul. For years, America ignored an entire nation, an error of massive proportions that has exploded in our faces. Other than Bush era stupidity and hubris, what was our rationale? "

OIL, GAS, DRUGS, AND BETRAYAL

Bush settled into the poorly managed war in Afghanistan at the behest of Israel and India. Israel was chasing gas pipeline revenue and India needed a base of operations to train guerrillas to attack Pakistan. In the process, absolutely everyone involved was going to get rich peddling heroin into Russia by mule and running it by the ton into Western Europe and America in through every means possible including, we are told, using rendition flights as drug couriers. Now that these flights have been “privatized” for some reason, it could actually get worse, if that is possible.

Since day one of the American war, the primary goal has been to push opium production to maximum levels, restructure it as the number one agricultural crop of Afghanistan and to build a permanent tribal war to cover open involvement in this massive multi-billion dollar initiative through purposeful mismanagement, misjudgment and sheer idiocy."

We, the people, don't know what to do. We don't want the wars, we want our soldiers to come home, but we are powerless against the hidden forces and people directing these misadventures and the liars in the press. Our government is out of control--at least by the people who are supposed to be governed by consent.

A TIME OF PASSION

The passion referred to is not the kind associated with romance, but is the kind associated with intense feeling, for this is the season of the Passover and the cruxifixction of Christ.

Biblical scholars disagree on the day of the murder of our Lord, whether it be Thursday or Friday, since the calendars used differ and whether the Jewish 'day' started at evening or noon. Even the gospels differ, yet it is clear that the disciples felt an intense loss.. Their Lord, who had called them to him and had lived and traveled with him, had been taken, held prisoner, tortured and tried by a "kangaroo' court. --A time of intense feeling.

"With bleeding back, carrying His cross under the heat of the now almost midday sun, He [Jesus] journeyed up the rugged heights of Golgotha. Reaching the appointed place of execution, His hands and feet were nailed to the tree. For three hours He hung there with the pitiless rays of the sun beating down [on] His thorn-crowned head. This was followed by the three hours of darkness, now over. That night and that day were hours into which an eternity was compressed." --Arthur W. Pitt

No other single event has had such an impact on the history of man and civilization.

This man who had been prophesied to come, preached forgiveness and love;

healed the blind and lame and taught us to love one another; to love and forgive our enemies and to pray for them. The "Price of Peace" was killed.

There are those who come in his name today and preach war, revenge, torture and

killing, yet they are not his servants and preach the same as his his Jewish killers. When the Pharisees, Scribes and Lawyers, all of who he called "hypocrites and vipers" claimed they were the sons of Abraham, he decried "if you are the sons of Abraham, do the deeds of Abraham"

This man, later identified by the scriptures as the Son of God, denounced much of the Jewish dogma, such as "an eye for an eye. .". Before Jesus, the system of might made right prevailed, but he changed the world by preaching devine love.
