ANOTHER WORRY

It is not enough for us to worry about unemployment the housing slump, foreclosures, bank closings, Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the earthquake in Haiti and Chile but new fears are gathering about the rumbling of the Yellowstone Caldera .

Yellowstone National Park is the floor of a gigantic volcanic cauldron that rises and shrinks according to the energy building below. The park, established in 1872 is situated in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho and home to wildlife such as grizzly bears, wolves, and elk. Home also to the famous "Old Faithful" and other geysers and volcanic spews, evidence of the heated steam and magma beneath the area.

Starting in December, 2009, geologists noted an increase or 'swarm' of small earthquakes under Yellowstone Lake, the largest being a 3.9 event. The lake was formed in ancient times by a collapsed volcano. Such earthquake groupings are not unusual for the area, but these movements are the most intense for years.

Should this activity be a precursor to an explosion of a super volcano, the result could be catastrophic--perhaps 1000 times more powerful than the eruption of Mt. St.Helens in Washington state. The ash spewed forth would cover most of the U.S.

and the dust in the atmosphere could cause climate change such as the advent of another ice age.

Are the earthquakes in Haiti and Chili related to the Yellowstone disturbance?

Not directly since they are each in a different fault area, yet everything in the universe is related to and connected with everything else, therefore an increase in earthquake activity, particularly large events, can portend trouble ahead.

With Love and Kindness,

THE HATMAN
